Pitching to brands can be difficult when it’s your first time approaching the brand in person. Although brands may be approaching you with thoughts and suggestions on how you can share their products and services with your readers, you are the one in control. You may be having so much question regarding how to pitch to brands?

Do you want a short-term, or long-term relationship? Traffic building links or paid opportunities? Low key advertisements or Interactive Promotions? Make sure you know what exactly to want from a brand and tell them specifically how they can fulfill your expectations for every project you will work on.

Following are few things you need to keep in mind if you want to know how to work with brands:
  • Answer every message on your blog, which is relevant to your audience. Make sure that brands you are working with are aligned with your blog niche.
  • Instead of saying no to bad pitches, recommend them to other bloggers that don’t fit your niche. It is important to maintain a good relationship with brands, and helping other bloggers is a good way to build a great relationship online.
  • Remember, brands need you just like you need them. Don’t hesitate in telling brands that what you expect from them in return for your services.
  • Make a list of the brands you want to work with and pitch them with your proposal. Tell them how they can benefit by working with you, and what projects will be a good fit for their business.
  • Never send the same pitch to multiple brands at the same time. Make sure to do some changes, suitable to their needs. Be specific, and don’t stretch your services. Tailor your pitch in such a way that it can benefit both sides.
  • Keep your pitch short and understandable. In most cases, 1-2 pages pitch is sufficient, comprising of bullet points and headings for clarifying to the reader.
